Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 March 2017 Verified Purchase Not only could Rogue One be my favourite Star Wars film at the moment (I declared it the best film of all time when I first saw the clip of the super laser being lowered in to the Death Star) but the score, taking in to account all that has come before it and all the comes after it in the saga. This soundtrack offers you glimpses of all 7 films of the saga. Remember, this is a stand alone film but of course very much tied in to what is going on in the saga. So the fact it is not a John Williams score. Michael Giacchino use John's elements to great effect and with affection for the original music surrounding Rogue One. Full marks for a perfect Score for a perfect Star Wars film. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 December 2017 Verified Purchase Seeing this in the cinema I remember really enjoying how the soundtrack was so Star Wars - and yet new. I bought it as a Christmas gift and we've listened to it multiple times over the holiday break, really enjoying it.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Author Alexander Freed Audio read by Jonathan Davis Country United States Language English Series Star Wars Genre Science fiction Publisher Del Rey Books Publication date Hardcover: December 23, 2016 Media type Print ( Hardcover & Paperback) Pages Hardcover: 352 ISBN 978-1780894782 Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is a novelization by Alexander Freed of the 2016 film of the same name. Development [ edit] Freed had previously written for story lines for Star Wars: The Old Republic and the novel Battlefront: Twilight Company, often focusing on the stories of "ordinary" characters. He was given access to the film script, which he divided into chapters with distinct point-of-view characters rather than using an omniscient narrator. Freed also incorporated sections of "Supplemental Data" to add a "documentary feel" comparable to the camerawork of director Gareth Edwards. [1] Differences from the film [ edit] In the beginning, when Galen boards the shuttle with Director Krennic, he feels a sense of remorse for what he did.
[2] [3] Jyn Erso 's history is slightly expanded upon in the book. [2] [3] More background details are revealed on Jyn's cellmate during her time in imperial captivity. [2] [3] The book also expands on the rivalry between Orson Krennic and Grand Moff Tarkin. [2] [3] More of the Death Star attack on Jedha city is revealed, including Imperial casualties. [2] [3] More is written from the perspective of Admiral Raddus, including a brief history of his species. [2] [3] The finale also gives more from the perspectives of each main character. The finale also offers a slight difference from the film. Instead of a male rebel, a middle aged rebel woman with a burned face hands over the data of the Death Star to Captain Antillies, who in turn hands them over to Princess Leia, leading directly to the events of A New Hope. [2] [3] Publication history [ edit] As was the case with the previous novelization, to avoid spoilers the hardcover book was released after the film while the ebook was available on the day of the film's US release.

It's a nice heavy-weight pressing, too. Feels high quality. The only bummer perhaps is that there is no interesting/pretty insert to look at while listening to the album! Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 December 2017 Verified Purchase I am a huge fan of John Williams Star Wars soundtracks and own them all, I was a little sceptical that anyone could come even close to them but this soundtrack is amazing, it is a beautiful album and truly fits into the Star Wars universe.
